Custom Style

Version 1.0 introduces support for loading your own sandbox (editor) styles, giving you the ability to customize the editor’s appearance to fit your workflow and preferences.

This feature makes it simple to tailor the editor’s interface for clarity, accessibility, or personal style.

The editor UI is built with Qt, and all style files use the .qss format. You can create or modify these .qss files to define your own custom look and feel for CRYENGINE.

Style change

  1. Open Preferences via Edit → Preferences.
  2. In the left panel, navigate to General → Style.
  3. In the Stylesheet entry, you can load your own custom .qss style file.
  4. CRYENGINE also includes a selection of pre‑built styles you can choose from out of the box.

This allows you to either apply your own custom look or quickly switch between the included styles to personalize the editor’s appearance.

Styles Location

All editor style files are located in the \Editor\Styles folder.

Usable styles use the .qss extension.

Files with the .cjstyles extension are legacy styles from CRYENGINE 3 and are deprecated. These older files are not compatible with the new style import system and will most likely not work.
